First-Time Knitting Vol. 1 Kitchen Sink by Akina Igarashi

Akina Igarashi from Kitchen Sink, who is in charge of KOGANE's art direction.

She had always told us during meetings and photo shoots, "I want to try knitting!"

This time, she chose the Kit / Cashmere Scarf for her first knitting experience, and we reported on her challenge 🧶

She started knitting in August, when the heat was still at its peak.
As it was her first time, she decided on a stockinette stitch scarf, which is the basic knitting stitch.
The project started around the Obon holiday, as we talked about "wanting to have it ready for winter."

She gradually mastered the initial "casting on," though it was a bit of a struggle at first.

Sometimes, stitches would drop,
but she overcame it with "intensive guidance"
from her knitting-savvy mother and grandmother back home.

She said that even with simple stockinette stitch,
dealing with problems was the most valuable training.

Ms. Igarashi often knitted when she wanted to relax at home, during breaks from work, or for a change of pace.
She said, "The time I spent knitting mindlessly felt so good, like my head was getting neatly organized."

She even continued knitting while traveling, focusing so intently that she said, "A 3-hour journey felt like 30 minutes!"

And finally, it was completed in mid-September ✨
Despite her busy work schedule, the scarf she knitted in less than a month became a piece filled with the warmth of careful handiwork.

Ms. Igarashi, who is always stylish, is wearing the finished red scarf in her own wonderful styling.

Wrapped in the soft touch of cashmere, she naturally smiles, feeling so comfortable.
She said she's looking forward to styling it this winter! ◎
