Swatches to enjoy with Basic yarn (Knitting Needles)

It's hard to believe that half a year has already passed since KOGANE debuted.

While we are still a new brand, all of us staff members are delighted that more and more people are getting to know us.

We are constantly thinking about how to convey the charm of KOGANE to more people, and we are engaged in various activities such as participating in events and creating samples.

The theme we have chosen for this occasion is an introduction to the knitted fabrics made with KOGANE yarn.

All KOGANE staff members have experience in hand-knitting.
We hope to share our ideas, born from our familiarity with knitting, little by little. We plan to introduce them irregularly, mainly focusing on needle knitting and crochet.



① Cashmere × Aran pattern

cashmere - Basic- / Off White

This traditional knitting pattern is said to have originated in the Aran Islands of Ireland and features three-dimensional cable patterns. It's an indispensable knit for classic sweaters.

When knitted with fluffy, light, and plump cashmere, the shadows of the pattern stand out beautifully.

Despite its three-dimensional quality, the overall fabric has an airy feel. Even with a voluminous knit pattern, it doesn't appear heavy and seems like it would make a natural-looking sweater for city wear.

② YAK × Lace pattern

YAK - Basic - / Beige

Yak yarn has an appealing rustic texture.
Combined with its undyed, subdued colors, it creates an alluring presence.

When combined with a lace pattern, you can feel the warmth of the material amidst its lightness.

This knitted fabric makes me imagine light cardigans or shawls that would be perfect for the upcoming season.


③ Thank You × Jacquard pattern

Thank You - Basic - / Sunset
Thank You - Basic - / Grape
cashmere - Basic- / Light Grey

The Thank You series features rich expressions in each color.
Initially, I tried knitting a border with two Thank You yarns, but the balance was quite tricky, so I experimented a bit.

Then, I used cashmere Light Grey as the base and incorporated the two Thank You colors as accents.

The result was a very beautiful finish.
The gentle grey brings everything together, and the color scheme stands out beautifully.

I thought it would be adorable to knit small items like mittens or hats! However, knitting takes more time than expected, so I'm considering taking my time and knitting it for next winter.




Even with the same yarn, different knitting techniques produce entirely different appearances. This is the fun of knitting and the joy of choosing yarn, isn't it?

What kind of fabric will this yarn become?
The time spent moving knitting needles while pondering such questions is a special moment in crafting.

Among the countless combinations of yarns and knitting patterns, we want to continue moving our knitting needles to deliver suggestions that make you want to start knitting right away.
