Kogane Wool Textile Co., Ltd.

A craft yarn brand born from the concept of "knitting materials" KOGANE.
As we launch our brand, the first thing we want to tell you about is our roots. This refers to Kogane Woolen Textile Co., Ltd.
Founded in 1952, the company has a long history of working alongside Japanese industry.
We spoke with President Ishii and Managing Director Ishii Tatsuki about the brand's background, Kogane Woolen's passion for yarn production, and future challenges.

Kogane Woolen Mill originally started out as a yarn factory for weaving fabric.
Currently based in Kashiwa City, Chiba Prefecture, the company spins yarn at its own factory, Akita Kogane Co., Ltd., in Yuzawa City, Akita Prefecture. The company mainly produces yarn for knitwear used in sweaters and cardigans, and has played a part in Japan's woolen spinning industry.

Even now, 73 years after the company was founded, President Ishii continues to work on thread production every day with the goal of "passing on the technology to the younger generation who will lead the next generation."

Senior Managing Director Ishii Tatsuki, who will lead the next generation, said, "The year I turn 60, the company will be celebrating its 100th anniversary," and he feels it is fate.
His words convey his determination for the future, saying that he will continue to take on each challenge carefully in order to celebrate his 100th anniversary in a successful manner.

At the heart of our manufacturing is the desire to "make the most of the quality of the materials."
We aim to create yarn that allows you to fully experience the inherent properties of the material by incorporating plenty of air into the yarn, making it light and soft.
At Akita Kogane, we carry out all processes from spinning to twisting yarn, maintaining high quality and stability.
Based on this foundation, we continue to take on new challenges while valuing new possibilities, even as times and environments change little by little.

Until now, Kogane Woolen's yarn has been knitted at various factories through the brand and transformed into clothing such as sweaters and cardigans.
From now on, through KOGANE, we will deliver to you handicraft yarn that allows you to experience the inherent softness, texture, and airy lightness of Kogane Woolen's yarn, allowing you to feel the charm of the material as it is.
We hope you will enjoy the warmth that you feel in your hands as you knit and the changing expressions that the yarn creates, and that the time you spend working with the yarn will become a small moment of joy and creativity in your daily life.
